Auto segmentation and quantification of titanium microstructures

Ti-SegTM was developed to identify and quantify various constituents of alpha/beta titanium microstructures using optical and/or BSE images.  The quantification includes two-point statistics as well as standard metrics currently used in the aerospace supply chain (e.g. median, mean, standard deviation, etc.)

Our state of the art computer vision, and machine learning algorithms quickly recognize primary alpha particles, secondary alpha laths, and beta phases in BSE and optical images of bimodal, equiaxed and colony microstructures of alpha/beta titanium alloys.

The use of two-point statistics enables unsupervised pattern recognition in micrographs which leads to efficient quality control.

Multiple user accounts all access the same database, while sharing permissions at the project and sample levels give you complete control over who can access the data within your organization.

As a web-based application, Ti-SegTM was built for implementation on the shop floor while maintaining the analysis capabilities of R&D labs.

Inputs from BSE or optical images

Whether your data are collected on the shop floor using optical microscopes, or in the R&D lab using SEMs, Ti-SegTM analyzes both formats with repeatable and reproducible results.

Flexible database for unstructured data

Everything we do is built on a modern, No-SQL database, giving you the flexibility to add relevant information "on the fly."  Along with our software we provide a database explorer, and the ability to import and export data in a wide range of formats so you always have access to your data.

Image-based data mining protocols (optional)

Our data mining protocols capture spatial variation of features, compare images, and find patterns in microstructures.  These can be used to identify batch-to-batch variability, supplier variability, and location specific microstructural heterogeneities.
